HBCU SpringComing™

Annual HBCU Homecoming Weekend in New York City April 2015-Present

Since it’s inception, The Grant Access has been the planning power behind HBCU SpringComing™ in New York City. Registered as the first festival of the spring in New York City, HBCU SpringComing’s™ mission is to preserve the legacy of the Black college experience while promoting support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities through alumni involvement. With 5,000+ annual attendees, their goal is to increase financial contributions toward scholarships supporting HBCU students while celebrating the unique atmosphere brought by an HBCU homecoming. The Grant Access has successfully managed 6 in person HBCU SpringComing weekends with 7 events spanning 3 days, in addition to one virtual event in 2021. To date the management of event operations, logistics, staffing, multiple local and long distance vendors, speakers, content and partnerships have resulted in over $50k in scholarships being awarded to students from the 5 boroughs attending HBCU’s in the fall. Previous partners of HBCU SpringComing include, Google, Twitter, Pepsi, Diageo, Moet Hennessy and others.
